Welcome to the Rye Fund Education Website!
Think Triple AAA: Fundraising campaigns directly supporting three areas central to a quality public education:
We are a non-partisan tax-exempt, non-profit corporation dedicated to ensuring that Rye City Schools continue to provide the very best education for our children. Our fundraising initiatives seek to promote and enhance educational excellence inside the classrooms and art rooms, on the stage and out on the fields and in all athletic, artistic and educational arenas. With growing state and federal mandates and diminishing public dollars, our school district resources are increasingly stretched. The Rye Fund for Education believes that ensuring an exemplary K-12 education in Rye is a community responsibility that benefits all residents of Rye. Let’s do it!
The Rye Fund for Education is committed to enriching the learning experiences of Rye City School students and ensuring that they have the opportunities and skills necessary to succeed in college and beyond. We believe every student should have the opportunity to become a scholar, an athlete, an artist and a citizen of the world. We seek to enhance the quality of public education in our community by engaging the support and energies of educators, citizens, parents, students and alumni.
The Fund is supported entirely by donations and is governed by a board of private citizens who are committed to helping all students reach their potential in academics, arts and athletics. We seek to galvanize the entire Rye community to help the Fund achieve its goals which we believe are critical as our schools face new and dramatic fiscal challenges. We need you!
In the short time since our launch, we have:
Provided funding for the Project Based Learning Initiative for 15 teacher fellowships to support all five schools.
Provided all 96 elementary school teachers with books and resources to support the District's Literacy Initiative;
Granted scholarships for summer work at Teachers College at Columbia University and underwritten summer seminars to support the professional development of our teachers;
Renovated and upgraded the Band Room for our Middle School and High School students in partnership with the High School and Middle School Parent Organizations;
Renovated the Deane Flood fitness center and weight room at the High School and equipped it with all new state of the art equipment for our students, through the generosity of one of our founding donors; and
Created, in partnership with the District, the beautiful science addition courtyard: a landscaped, outdoor space for learning, studying or unwinding between classes. The large decorative “G” exemplifies Garnet Pride and is surrounded by pavers and benches, available to commemorate your child.
