The Rye Fund for Education is kickstarting a community fundraising campaign to support Safe Academics for Everyone in the Rye City Schools with a donation of $50,000. The Rye City School District has identified over $500,000 in additional costs due to COVID-19. The goal of the SAFE campaign is to raise $250,000 to assist our schools through the pandemic.
The RFE is a 501(c)3 foundation created to support the excellence of Rye City Schools. The RFE encourages our community to assist the Rye City School District in meeting the extraordinary expenses of the COVID-19 pandemic, given the lack of additional school aid from state and federal governments.
We need a SAFE education for Rye students. Preparation for a hybrid start to the school year in an era of COVID-19 has presented unique challenges for our school community in managing the needs of both in-person and remote learning during the pandemic. The Rye City Schools are facing significant cost increases as the District needs to carefully institute a new level of health and safety priorities in the District’s protocols, procedures and facilities, while preparing for a robust learning experience through remote means for all students. As Rye community members, we are asking for your support to help offset additional costs of operating the schools safely. The excellent school program provided in Rye should not be cut back to cover COVID costs.
100% of tax-deductible community donations to the SAFE campaign will go to the Rye City School District to support the ongoing needs of our schools to manage COVID-19.
